She pursued a Global Policy (MS) degree. Furthermore, Hannah specialized in climate policy, and a Political Science (BA) degree, with a focus on international policy.
Throughout her academic tenure, Hannah held pivotal leadership roles within prominent student organizations. These included the International Students Association, Sustainability Environmental Action Division, and UMaine Student Government. Consequently, her contributions played a pivotal role in achieving new fundraising milestones. Additionally, she helped catalyze campus-wide sustainability initiatives, and establishing dynamic committees dedicated to advocating for student interests. Jeremy attended San Diego State University. Additionally, he earned a B.A. in Economics and a second B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies (Statistics, Sociology, and Mathematics). During his undergraduate career, he enjoyed researching wavelets and foreign exchange rates. Furthermore, this interest led him to pursue a M.A. in Mathematics at the University of Maine, Orono.
As a San Diego native, living in snow and experiencing subzero temperatures was a shock. Moreover, his master’s thesis addressed the potential impact of saturated images on the statistical methodology used by the CompuMaine research lab for mammograms. Programming in bash, tcl, and R was involved in this research, along with additional projects requiring coding in Python for image colocalization. Inspired by his mentor and seeking a better understanding of the lab’s computer hardware and software, Jeremy enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Engineering. Additionally, his PhD research focuses on AI for cancer segmentation in histological images.
While at the University of Maine, Jeremy worked for Dr. Raymond Moberly’s company, Faster Logic. Moreover, the company won a Phase I STTR from the Office of Naval Research in July 2020, and he was promoted to Associate Project Engineer. In December of 2020, the company was selected for a Phase II STTR. Furthermore, unexpectedly, Dr. Moberly passed away in July 2021. Consequently, Jeremy paused his PhD to become the CEO of Faster Logic, finishing the Phase I Option and preparing the company for Phase II.
Jeremy had to quickly assess the company’s progress and needs to meet government deadlines. Additionally, due to significant personnel complications and other constraints, the decision to shut down the company upon successful completion of the Phase I Option was made. Jeremy gained experience in assuming challenging contracts with imminent deliverable deadlines, navigating university research politics, and managing complex accounting systems and subcontractors.
Excited to join the Maden Consulting team, Jeremy looks forward to assisting with business operations, consulting services, and aiding in the successful completion of clients’ requests. Furthermore, he is enthusiastic about working for Janina and the future of the company.
